What's new in CADY
Release notes for rule engine updates, API changes, new integrations, and platform improvements.
Pro and Team accounts can now write rules that reference component parameter values directly. For example: net.voltage > 48V requires clearance >= 4mm. Three built-in predicate functions ship in this release: voltage_class(), current_rating(), and package_area().
CADY now parses Altium .SchDoc natively without requiring a netlist export step. This removes the main friction point in Altium workflows. The update also ships 26 new clearance rules covering hi-voltage creepage distances per IPC-2221B annular ring minimums.
Submit a webhook_url with any review request and CADY posts the result JSON to your endpoint on completion. Complements the polling model for CI pipelines that cannot block a build job. Report export now supports PDF (annotated, printable) and CSV alongside the existing JSON format.
Attach a BOM CSV alongside your schematic and CADY now validates that each component's footprint dimensions fall within the tolerance band from its datasheet. The rule engine sources datasheet land pattern data from an internal component index covering 2.4 million part numbers. If a part is absent from the index, CADY flags it as an unverifiable entry rather than silently passing it.
The rule engine's net-connectivity analysis stage has been rewritten using a parallel graph traversal approach. Schematics above 400 components now complete in under 4 minutes on average, down from 6.5 minutes in the previous release. Memory usage also dropped by roughly 30% at peak load. No changes to rule logic or report format.
The Team plan ships with 5 seats, team-scoped rule profiles, per-member API keys with role-based permissions, and a shared review history dashboard. Organization admins can set a default rule profile that applies automatically to all team members' reviews. Existing Pro subscribers can upgrade to Team from the billing page.
KiCad 8 introduced a revised .kicad_sch format with updated symbol attribute keys. CADY's parser now handles both KiCad 7 and KiCad 8 formats automatically. This release also fixes 14 power-integrity rules that were incorrectly flagging certain split-power-rail configurations as net driver conflicts when the rails were intentionally isolated.
The CADY REST API opens to all Pro and Team accounts. Endpoints in this release: POST /v1/reviews (submit), GET /v1/reviews/{id} (status), and GET /v1/reviews/{id}/report (download). Rate limit starts at 60 requests per minute per API key. Swagger UI and OpenAPI spec are linked from the API reference docs.
CADY launches into private beta with 620 design rules across power integrity, net connectivity, and BOM consistency categories. Initial format support covers KiCad (.kicad_sch, .net) and Eagle (.sch). Beta users receive unlimited reviews. Feedback from the first cohort of 50 hardware teams directly shapes the rule roadmap.
